We all want to stay with the times. We’ll probably never be as hip as grandpa is in the above photo, but the pull of the cultural and trends shape us. As the expression says, “better get with the times!”
The chart below shows Fintech is today where Social Media was in 2006. Venmo adoption rate matched that of social media in 2006. Since then, older generations followed the young. Payment applications should benefit from network effects as did Social Media. In a few years, Fintech adoption should look like 2018 Social Media.
Also, in contrast to social media, young people want older people on Fintech; there is a stronger intergenerational viral coefficient.
